More About Water, Temperature & Humidity Sensors
Currently, this section is limited to the wired water detection sensors that we offer. For temperature and humidity detection, we have options through PowerG wireless sensors, or Alarm.com equipment, such as the PowerG PG9905 and the ADC-S40-T.
The water detection sensors you'll find here have a variety of uses, especially when paired with the right equipment. By default, flood sensors can provide you with an early alert that you have a leaking pipe or appliance. Sensors like the GRI 2600 and Tane WS-1 mount near potential leak points near the floor, and the moment water reaches the device's location, you'll get an alarm. The GRI 2600 is a Normally Closed, 4-wire, powered model which works best for panels like the DSC NEO that offer a Normally Closed loops option. The Tane WS-1 is a Normally Open 2-wire model that works best with Panels like the IQ Pro that offer a NO option for zone supervision. We also carry the CS1829C/O, which is a sump pump float switch for those with a sump pit. An overflowing sump pit can very quickly become a serious problem if you catch it too late, so it is crucial that the water level be monitored. The CS1829C/O offers both Normally Closed and Normally Open operation, so it works great with any wired or hybrid alarm system.
Water detection sensors can also be paired with equipment and services to take their effectiveness to the next level. When paired with Alarm.com's self-monitoring app, you can be instantly notified of your water issue no matter where you may be. In addition, smart water valve devices like the ADC-SWV100 and the IQ Water Valve can be automated to immediately shut off incoming water to your home in the event that a flood sensor triggers, potentially saving you thousands in repairs.
