More About Alarm.com Communicators
Here you'll find the collection of Alarm.com communicators we carry. Alarm.com communicators are primarily dual-path, meaning they use both a cellular and an IP connection for redundancy. Most Alarm.com communicators are system-specific, which allows them to integrate better with their given alarm systems. All Alarm.com communicators, except for the universal model, perform their own sync/programming on the alarm system, which removes any need to adjust programming within the system yourself. Each Alarm.com communicator comes with either an AT&T or Verizon SIM card, to provide you with the best coverage in your area. When deciding whether to get the AT&T or Verizon models, keep in mind that the overall cost is exactly the same, and the Alarm.com services listed above cover all necessary cellular fees, so you will not need to worry about dealing with AT&T or Verizon themselves to activate your units.
The first set of communicators you'll find here are the TL880s, which replaced the CD8080 communicators. The TL880 communicator is specifically used with the DSC PowerSeries NEO alarm systems (HS2016, HS2032, HS2064, & HS2128). The TL880 communicators also work with the DSC PowerSeries Pro alarm systems if you have one of them installed. The TL880LECATN model comes with an AT&T SIM card built in for those with better AT&T LTE coverage where they live. The TL880LECVZN model offers a Verizon SIM card. Both models of the TL880 also feature built-in Ethernet ports, giving you the option of connecting them to your local router or modem for internet access. The TL880 uses an external 6ft antenna, and the module itself may be placed up to 100ft away from the alarm system.
Following that, we have the SEM300 communicators, which are the replacement units for the SEM210 communicators. There are 4 models of the SEM300, the SEM300-PS and the SEM300-VT. The SEM300-PS communicators are specifically for use with the DSC PowerSeries alarm systems (PC1616, PC1832, PC1864) that have a firmware version of 4.2 and higher. The SEM300-PS-AT uses an AT&T SIM cared, and the SEM300-PS-VZ uses a Verizon SIM card. The SEM300-VT models are specifically for use with Honeywell Vista systems (10P, 15P, 20P, 21IP) that have a firmware version of 5.2 or higher. The SEM300-VT-AT offers an AT&T SIM, while the SEM300-VT-VZ uses a Verizon SIM. All SEM300s come with built-in Ethernet ports so you can take advantage of their dual-path functionality. SEM300 communicators have internal antennas, but they may be placed up to 90ft away from the alarm system when using 18-gauge wire. These models come with a battery cable that allows you to pull power from your alarm system's battery rather than the system itself.
Additionally, we carry Alarm.com's universal communicator, the LX30B which allows Alarm.com's award-winning interactive services to be used with nearly any alarm system. The LX30B does work better with certain compatible alarm systems using its smart connector to automatically sync some information from your alarm system.
We also carry a number of extended antennas that can be used with the Alarm.com communicators in the event you need better cell reception but are unable to change your communicator's location. The ADC-9AM-18F-MMCX is an 18ft antenna designed by Alarm.com to work with their 4G and CAT-M communicators using an MMCX antenna connector. We also offer the LTE15ANT, LTE25ANT, and LTE50ANT, which are DSC antennas of varying lengths that use an SMA connector.
