The DSC PowerSeries NEO is the newest in DSC's line up. What you'll get with the HS3251CP01 kit are the DSC NEO HS2032 control board and PC5003C cabinet. This also comes with the PTC1640 transformer and a 12 volt 7 amp backup battery. You'll also get the HS2LCDENG Full message keypad, which will allow easier programming and the ability to label zones.
This is a hardwired/wireless hybrid system. It comes with 8 hardwired zones on the mainboard, and you can add more hardwired zones by installing the HSM2108 8-Hardwired Zone Expander Module. As we just mentioned, the DSC NEO can use wireless devices as well. The DSC NEO wireless devices can be used if you have a wired keypad with a built-in transceiver such as the HS2LCDRF9ENG or by using the HSM2HOST9 Transceiver Module. The wireless range that the NEO has is an impressive half-mile, and the device's lithium batteries will last a good 6-8 years before having to be replaced because of the energy-saving features that the NEO has to offer. You'll get a total of 32 zones with the HS2032 panel in any combination of hardwired and wireless devices.
The HS2032 board has 2 PGM outputs, which can be used for additional attached devices such as smoke detectors. The PGMs can also be used as triggers to set off additional notifiers like add-on chimes when certain system events occur. You can expand up to 38 PGMs using modules such as the HSM2204 and the HSM2208 PGM expander cards. The HSM2204 is a high-current output and power supply. It adds 4 PGM outputs. The HSM2208 is a standard 8 PGM output expansion board. Those with the 2 onboard PGM outputs bring the PGM output total to 38.
Because of the keypad you get with this kit, the HS2LCDENG; you'll have a much better time programming your new NEO panel. This keypad will read out all programming information and has a 32 character display. DSC has made programming a little easier with the NEO as they've combined a lot of the programming sections that they previously separated in the PC1616, PC1832, and PC1864 panels. All sections and toggle options are labeled, so you're not guessing where you're at in programming. You also can scroll through sections using the arrow keys on the keypad.
Another feature that the DSC NEO boasts is a 500 event log. If you need to know what alarms have happened in the recent past, then you'll be able to pull them up from the event log as long as you have one of the full message keypads. You'll be able to pinpoint which sensor was activated and when. For instance, if you go on vacation and have an event when you're gone, then you can see it in the log.
The HS2032 can store up to 72 user codes. These codes are used for daily use to arm and disarm the system. This is more than what most people need for a home installation as far as user codes go, but these systems can also be used in a small business setting for companies with a plethora of employees. You can also add a proximity capable keypad such as the HS2LCDRFP9ENG so you can use the NEO proximity tags. This makes arming and disarming simple as users have to swipe their tags across the keypad to arm or disarm the system. You can add 71 prox tags to the system.
This version of the HS2032NK is CP01 compliant and has all the fail-safes to help protect against false alarms. You will not be able to pick values for some programming sections below a certain value, such as the entry/exit delays.
