Qolsys IQ5 Hub PowerG Wireless Alarm - Verizon QOL IQH5017

The IQ5 Hub alarm system from Qolsys is a more cost-effective model of the all-new IQ5 system lineup. Similar to the IQ4 Hub, the IQ5 Hub drops a few features that may be unnecessary for some users to reduce costs; however, very much unlike its predecessor, the IQ5 Hub is able to accommodate multiple wireless frequencies and daughter cards. This opens up the IQ5 Hub as a viable option for takeovers of older alarm system builds that may have existing wireless sensors, whereas the IQ4 was limited to PowerG only. Having the option of using daughter cards allows you to not only use the embedded PowerG + technology of the IQ5 Hub, but also include secondary SRF cards such as the 319.5MHz for Qolsys S-line devices, 345MHz for legacy Honeywell sensors, and 433MHz for legacy DSC sensors. To go one step further, the IQ5 Hub also offers a second daughter card slot for an Ethernet card, so you can hardwire your IQ5 Hub directly into your local network rather than being restricted to IP communication via Wi-Fi. As mentioned, the IQ5 systems now have PowerG + embedded into the main circuit board of the system, which brings a few additional benefits on top of allowing the IQ5 Hub to use Daughter cards. The most notable change is that now all PowerG and PowerG + wireless devices will benefit from up to 4x the range of the previous IQ Panels, bringing the PowerG range up to over a mile in open air. In addition, all PowerG + features are now available with any IQ5 alarm system model or firmware, including accurate battery-level reporting, 2-factor authentication when enrolling sensors, over-the-air updates for sensors, and more!

As with any IQ Panel, the IQ5 Hub can support up to 128 wireless security zones across up to 4 partitions, 242 user codes, and up to 167 Z-Wave devices. Additionally, the IQ5 Hub now also supports up to 100 PowerG Automation devices using the embedded PowerG+ technology. Up to 4 IQ Remote keypads can be used with the IQ5 Hub, as well as up to 2 PowerG wired-to-wireless converters, allowing you to incorporate wired sensors into the system if desired. With the system's 2 front-facing speakers and piezo siren, you'll get crisp, clear audio for the system's built-in voice annunciations, and an 85db siren during alarm conditions. When using the IQ5 Hub system to answer an Alarm.com doorbell camera, the IQ5 Hub also supports a Micro-Electrical-Mechanical Systems (MEMs) microphone to improve the call quality. The IQ5 Hub systems now also use 12VDC input power, which opens up new possibilities for powering the system rather than being restricted to the base power adapter included with the system.

With the improvements to the IQ5 Hub's processor and NAND memory, the new Qualcomm Dragonwing improves the system's operating speeds and offers up to 32GB of internal storage for the life of the system. In addition, the IQ5 family runs on the Android 14 operating system, which beefs up the already enjoyable and rock-solid user interface of the systems. The IQ5 Hubs use dual-path communication for connecting to services with Alarm.com. You have the option of either an AT&T cellular model or a Verizon Cellular model (this product), and both are able to utilize IP connections via Wi-Fi by default. The IQ5 Hubs support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi connections to offer the best speeds with your home or business router. In addition, as mentioned, the Ethernet Daughter Card for IQ5 systems can be used to provide you with a direct wired IP connection if you desire. When using Alarm.com services, you have the option of either self-monitoring the IQ5 Hub using just the Alarm.com app and all of its features, or you may also set up professional monitoring with a Central Station for dispatch on alarms.
