The All New IQ 5 Hub Wireless alarm system from Qolsys is a fantastic entry point for those looking at a cost-effective wireless system without too many bells and whistles. The IQ5 Hub is essentially a slimmed-down version of the IQ Panel 5 alarm system, and removes a few features to reduce cost. The primary component that is removed is the front-facing portrait view camera at the top of the IQ5. This removes the ability to capture pictures when codes are entered on the system, as well as stops the system from taking a video during alarm conditions. However, if those features are inconsequential for you, the IQ5 Hub still provides all of the other features present on the IQ5 systems, including embedded PowerG +, an Alarm.com communicator for services, and the new updated Dragonwing processor and Android 14 operating system. Having PowerG + embedded into the IQ5 Hub serves as a crucial upgrade over previous generations of IQ Hubs by not only beefing up PowerG sensors used with the IQ5 Hub but also by allowing the use of secondary daughter cards. Having PowerG + integrated into the main circuit board of the IQ5 Hub opens up 2 daughter card slots inside the unit that you can use to install secondary SRF wireless frequencies, as well as an Ethernet daughter card for a wired internet connection to your router. In addition, the integrated PowerG + technology boosts the avialable wireless range up to 4 times that of the previous IQ models. The IQ5 Hub's communicator being dual-path allows you to use both a cellular connection to either AT&T or Verizon, and also a Wi-Fi connection for either 2.4GHz or 5GHz; however, if you would prefer a direct wired connection, the new Ethernet daughter card enables that. For secondary SRF cards, the IQ5 Hub can use one of 3 available SRF frequencies, which can be used to take over a number of existing wireless systems. With the addition of Z-Wave Long Range technology, the IQ5 Hub makes turning your home into a smart home easier than ever, allowing you to enroll up to 167 Z-Wave devices, while supporting an even further connection range. For PowerG Automation, the IQ5 Hub can handle up to 100 devices, which utilize the embedded PowerG technology to provide extreme range and wireless reliability. For users, the IQ5 Hub supports up to 242 total user codes, providing plenty of users for employees or family as needed. With the sheer number of available users, it is also feasible to provide everyone with their own duress code as well, which can be used in emergency situations. And as if that wasn't enough, the IQ5 Hub also comes with a built-in indoor siren, which can remove the need to purchase additional sirens for the system, reducing your install costs even further.

For those looking for self-monitoring options or professional monitoring, the IQ5 Hub's built-in communicator allows you to utilize Alarm.com's award-winning mobile app and services. Through Alarm.com, you'll have the option of using interactive services to remotely control the alarm system and receive notifications directly to your phone or email about important system events. On top of that, you can set up a monitored plan which will transmit your alarm signals to a Central Station for dispatch. For those with Alarm.com video cameras, you're also able to live view doorbells and cameras directly through the IQ5 Hub and even IQ Remote PG additional keypads if desired. Alarm.com also directly integrates with the automation functionality of the IQ5 Hub when using one of their automation service plans, allowing you to remotely control and automate smart home devices directly from the app. Having these service with your IQ system allows you to check in on your home and handle important matters from anywhere in the world so long as you have a cellular connection on your phone, giving you peace of mind.
