More About Qolsys IQ Pro Accessories And Expansion

The first set of modules you'll find in this section are the hardwired HSM modules from the DSC PowerSeries NEO line. These modules are used to expand the hardwired aspect of your IQ Pro system. The first and most important would be the HSM2108 Zone Expanders. These zone expanders add 8 additional hardwired zones to your alarm system, so they are essential for a primarily wired system. The next module you'll find is the HSM2204 High Current Output Module. The HSM2204 offers an additional 1 Amp of power that can be used for wired devices, and also includes 4 high-current PGM outputs. These outputs can be used for powering different devices, such as additional sirens or smoke detectors. Following that, we have the HSM2300 Power Supply Module. The HSM2300 is strictly used for adding an additional 1 Amp of available power to your system. Keep in mind, when using either the HSM2204 or HSM2300 modules, you will need an additional transformer and battery for each one. That is why we also offer the PC5003c expansion cabinet in this section, which you can use to house the power supplies and their required components. Lastly, for wired modules, we have the HSM2208 Low-Current Output Module, which adds 8 additional low-current (50mA) PGM outputs to your IQ Pro.

Additionally, we offer PowerG Wired-to-Wireless converters for IQ Panels. These translators are more commonly used to add hardwired capabilities to the IQ Panel 4 systems; however, they can also be used with the IQ Pro if needed. Suppose you have a hardwired external building that is within range of PowerG wireless, but you don't have the ability to run a wire to it from your main system. These PowerG converters would allow you to wire up anything in that external building and transmit the status via PowerG to your main IQ Pro system. While niche, they add a lot of versatility to an already extremely versatile alarm system. Wired-To-Wireless translators require both AC power and a backup battery, such as the BD712. The first of the converters is the PG9WLSHW8, which comes in a small plastic cabinet designed to hold 2 HSM2108 zone expanders, allowing you to fit a total of 24 wired zones if you include the main board. The second is the PG9HRDW8, offering a larger plastic cabinet capable of holding up to 4 HSM2204s for a total of 40 wired zone inputs. Both the PG9WLSHW8 and PG9HRDW8 also offer onboard bell circuits and PGMs that can be used as well.

Lastly, we have the PowerG + HOST transceiver. These also have a very specific use when used with the IQ Pro; however, it can be a lifesaver in the right situation. If your IQ Pro system will be located in a place where the wireless signal would be extremely weak, such as a basement or perhaps a concrete reinforced room, you can use the HOST module as an alternate PowerG wireless access point. By enrolling the HOST on the IQ Pro, the IQ Pro will then use the HOST to connect to all external PowerG devices, which means you can keep your main system safe while putting the HOST in a location that all the sensors can easily reach via wireless.
