NOTE: DSC has ceased to make their own transformers. In an effort to help customers locate this transformer as needed we have opted to keep this part number active for the time being and simply provide an alternate transformer of the same specification as the DSC PTC1640 model.

DSC PTC1640 power transformer. 16.5 volts AC, 40 VA. For use with most all brands and models of alarm systems, including DSC, GE Caddx, Ademco and others. This model is an upgraded version of the DSC PTD1640.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • I have a Pittway #1322/tf3 transformer that has gone bad. Will this power my system in it's place?

    According to google the 1322/tf3 is a 12VAC 20VA transformer, so our 16VAC 40VA provides more than enough power, however if your system is not designed to accept more than say 15VAC, then that could possibly cause problems. 

    I would recommend checking the specs on the system you are powering. If its able to handle up to 16VAC 40VA then yes you can use the PTC1640. 

  • will your new DSC PTC1640 work on my DSC 1616 system bcause my ELVPSU 48C1650A powere supply has died

    Yes, the PTC1640 works great with any DSC PowerSeries panel. 

  • What is the temperature range for this product?

    No spec is provided for this, however heat is a bigger concern that cold. These are not supposed to go hot places such as attics.
