DSC PGP-WT-SC6 water sensor cable for PGP9986

The PGP-WT-SC6 is a 6-foot water-sensing cable accessory for the DSC PGP9986 Water Tile Flood sensor. The sensor cable uses the same concept as a probe for flood sensing; however, rather than having a single endpoint capable of detecting water, the sensor cable is able to detect water along the entire length of the cable. This opens up numerous ways to approach flood detection for your home by allowing you to not only detect water in a specific spot, but also create a water-sensing boundary around potential flood spots. For example, rather than trying to find the low point around your water heater where water may pool up, you can encircle the entire water heater so that no matter which direction the water travels, the sensor cable will catch it. The PGP-WT-SC6 also negates the need to have the water detection point near a wall. The majority of flood sensors you'll find are designed to mount on wall trim near the areas you want protection, which offers limited coverage and requires that enough water can pool in that location to touch both contact points of the sensor. Routing the sensor cable around appliances, or even along the bottom of walls, can boost detection time and cover a much larger area.

Installation of the PGP-WT-SC6 is very simple as well. The sensor cable comes with a small bracket that can be mounted on the wall near. The sensor cable simply plugs into the bracket using a headphone jack-style connector.  After enrolling the PGP9986 Water Tile into your system, the Water Tile simply slides down into the mounted bracket and clicks into place. Contacts on the bracket trigger the Water Tile when the cable senses water, thus triggering the sensor and alerting you to the water leak. Once the leak has been dealt with, the sensor cable can simply be dried off and reused as needed to keep your home safe from water damage.
