Alarm.com ADC-V516 Indoor 1080p Wi-Fi Camera

The Alarm.com ADC-V516 is a cost-effective, high-quality indoor Wi-Fi camera designed as a replacement for the ADC-V515. The V516 offers 1080P Resolution and HDR for vibrant imaging, and a 110-degree field of view. In addition, the ADC-V516 offers two-way audio, bringing it more in line with Alarm.com's more upscale models like the ADC-V523. As always, the V516 also includes the ability to use Alarm.com's Video Analytics features for identifying humans vs. animals, and ground zone and trip-wire motion detection. One new feature of the V516 over its predecessor is it's dual-band Wi-Fi capability, meaning it works on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz W-Fi bands. This can boost the camera's connection speed on your network, which improves many aspects of its usability, especially continuous live-viewing and 24/7 local SVR recording. Being able to utilize both Wi-Fi bands also allows a much more reliable connection to your home router, which can help avoid potential disconnections.

The ADC-V516 also supports local recording using both of Alarm.com's available methods: Onboard Recording and SVR recording. Onboard recording is ideal for setups utilizing fewer cameras that need to record 24/7. While Onboard Recording, you merely plug in a surveillance-grade SD card into the open SD port on the camera to get started, then just enable local recording for that camera via the Alarm.com app. Users with the Pro Video With Analytics plan can set up Onboard recording for 2 cameras, and Premium Video plan users may Onboard Record with all compatible cameras. Using the ADC-V516 with SVR recording will require one of Alarm.com's SVRs be installed, and you will also need the SVR Streaming Video Add-on.

In short, the ADC-V516 is an ideal choice for a simple, but feature-rich, indoor video camera. To use the V516 with an Alarm.com account, you will need one of the 3 base video services offered by Alarm.com, which are the Pro Video, Pro Video with Analytics, or Premium Video plans. For motion-related triggers, you will need either the Analytics or Premium plans.
