ADC-VC728PF Alarm.com Pro Series 4MP PoE Indoor / Outdoor Camera with Varifocal Lens

The ADC-VC728PF is one of Alarm.com's Pro Series cameras for use in either indoor or outdoor environments. The main feature of the VC728PF is its motorized varifocal lens allowing you to zoom the camera's view in and out. The varifocal lens can be adjusted from 3.2mm up to 9.8mm, offering about 3x zoom. With it being a varifocal lens, zooming, thus changing the field of view does not affect image quality at all, giving you pristine clips or recorded footage even while zoomed in. The VC728PF supports video analytics as well, meaning you'll have incredibly precise motion capture with this camera while using the Pro Video with Analytics service plan.

The ADC-VC728PF allows local recording to either an SD card in the camera itself (onboard recording) or an Alarm.com SVR. One thing to keep in mind with this camera, the 4MP local recording is available only through the SVR option. To utilize the onboard recording you will need either the Pro Video with Analytics package (supports 2 onboard recording cams), or the Premium Video package which allows all cameras to onboard record. SD cards for this must be high enough quality to support constant video recording. Compatible SD cards are Western Digital, SanDisk High Endurance, and Micron Industrial cards.

Being a part of the Pro Series cameras, the ADC-VC728PF is also compatible with business analytics provided by Alarm.com Commercial Video plans. A commercial plan is not required for this camera, but using it in a commercial environment can help increase traffic and workflow. Business analytics provides heat mapping and other high-tech camera features that give you the information you need to improve your business.

The Onboard Recording feature of this camera requires an SD card, the recommended cards can be found here: Surveillance-grade Micro SD cards

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Regarding the pro series camera that is POE but also I presume the other hook-up is to a 110 electrical outlet through a transformer provided separately - if you have both available can you attach the camera to both the Cat5 ethernet cable and to the electrical port of the camera?

Yes, if your router does not provide POE you can use the following power supply for the camera:
