What wireless sensors work with the IQ Panel 4?
There are numerous sensor types that will work with the IQ Panel 4, depending on what model is being used. All IQ Panels are capable of using PowerG wireless sensors by default. PowerG is also the highest quality wireless sensors that the system is compatible with, while providing a wide array of sensor options to choose from. For this reason, if you plan to purchase a new IQ Panel 4, it is ideal to use all PowerG sensors.
However, there are 3 models of the IQ Panel 4 that include secondary wireless cards which allow you to use alternate wireless sensors. This can be particularly helpful when you are taking over an existing system with wireless devices. The 3 different secondary wireless cards are the 319.5MHz, 345MHz, and 433MHz wireless cards. Because these systems also include the PowerG wireless card, you can replace your existing sensors over time with PowerG as they go bad or wear out. This can save you a lot of money up front, and provide an easy solution for future-proofing.
The 319.5MHz wireless card allows your system to take over existing Interlogix wireless devices. Interlogix sensors are discontinued, so there are no replacement sensors available, making the IQ Panel 4 PowerG + 319.5MHz panel one of the best solutions to upgrade your system. The 319.5MHz card also allows you to use the Qolsys S-Line wireless devices as well.
The 345MHz card can be used to take over existing Honeywell 5800 wireless devices, as well as 2GIG wireless sensors. Both of these sensor types are still available at the time of writing this FAQ, but if they ever are discontinued, using the IQ Panel 4 PowerG + 345MHz panel will provide you with a means of upgrading at that time.
The 433MHz wireless card allows you to use the Legacy DSC 433MHz wireless devices with your IQ Panel. The 433Mhz sensors have been discontinued, so they are becoming difficult to find replacements for. By simply upgrading your system to the IQ Panel 4 PowerG + 433MHz panel, you'll be able to upgrade to DSC's top-of-the-line PowerG sensors and keep your home safe.
