What keypad options do I have with the IQ Pro?
The IQ Pro offers an abundance of keypad options allowing both wired and wireless keypad options to properly outfit your system build. Because the IQ Pro is a collaboration of both IQ Panels and the DSC NEO system, all keypads from each line work with the IQ Pro.
The Qolsys IQ Remote PG is the most popular choice with IQ Pro systems, offering a user-friendly touchscreen interface, and a secure PowerG wireless connection to the panel. The IQ Remote also allows you to locally control Z-wave devices and other IQ devices if you have them included in your build. If you are using wireless keypads with your IQ Pro, we recommend at least one IQ Remote as the primary keypad.
Alternatively, if you are planning for wired keypads, the HS2TCHPN wired touchscreen from the DSC NEO line is a solid choice as well, though they can be a little expensive. While not quite as intuitive as the IQ Remote, it offers a clean touchscreen interface to control the security system. The HS2TCHPN should be used as a primary keypad when building a more wired IQ Pro.
Along with those primary keypad options, there are a slew of nice secondary keypads that can be used with the IQ Pro which work better for entry points in your home that are used a bit less often. The following options offer a less useful interface, but are great for daily arming and disarming.
Any of the HS2LCD button-style keypads from the DSC NEO line work great for secondary wired keypads. They can show system status, open zones, and troubles on screen, but don't offer much control besides arming and disarming. It's generally recommended you choose the standard HS2LCDENGN, but certain features from other keypads can come in handy. For example, the HS2LCDRF9 keypad comes with a receiver built in, and you can decide whether you want the IQ Pro to use its built-in receiver, or the receiver in the keypad. This allows you to determine where the wireless sensors connect to the panel in case the cabinet location is not ideal.
For secondary wireless keypads, you can select from either the DSC NEO HS2LCDWF9, or the Qolsys IQKP wireless touchpad. The HS2LCDWF9 is a button style keypad similar to the wired options above. Whereas the IQKP touchpad is the most simplified keypad you can choose from, but comes with a very low price point. The Touchpad only offers a few LEDs to show system status, but the keypad looks very clean and offers a surprising amount of control allowing you to easily arm separate partitions and other useful commands you wouldn't expect.
