What you’ll get:
Double-sided Adhesive Tape
The ADC-S2000-T-RA Alarm.com Temperature Sensor is used in conjunction with the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat for sensing temperatures in various rooms of the home or business. To mount this device you’ll use the included nail or double-sided adhesive. The unit itself measures 3.5 in L x 3 in W x 1.3 in D so it will be unobtrusive and aesthetically pleasing with its off-white color.
To install the sensor you will install the control first and make sure that all other Z-Wave devices are in place and working. This will help ensure that you have a good mesh network. Each Z-Wave device will act as a repeater of sorts to strengthen the network in your home or business as a whole. You will install this sensor by mounting it 5 feet from the floor on an interior wall. You will want to avoid mounting the sensor near heating and cooling vents and areas where the sensor will come be in direct sunlight.
The first thing is to make sure you’ve gotten all your other Z-Wave in place and added to the network. It’s always a good idea to do a Network Rediscovery at this point to make sure everything is synchronized. You will then put your panel or control into Add Mode and go to the temperature sensor. You’ll then add the temperature sensor to the network by pressing the pairing button on the sensor itself. When the light on the device goes from flashing to solid then the sensor has been successfully added.
This temperature sensor will send exact temperature information to your ADC Smart Thermostat so that the thermostat can make smart adjustments to your climate. This will save you money in the long run because the thermostat will adjust to help save electricity. If you’re using Alarm.com Residential Interactive Services; you’ll be able to see the temperature being registered on each of these sensors and you’ll be able to remotely view and control your thermostats. You can use Alarm.com Interactive through our DSC NEO, DSC Touch, DSC Impassa and Honeywell Vista 15P or Honeywell Vista 20P systems. The DSC NEO panels will use the 8080 cellular communicators and the Honeywell Vista systems will use the SEM modules. The DSC Touch has the communicator already built-in. You’ll be able to maintain a greater control of your energy costs and your security needs through Alarm.com and the offerthe most affordable services we’ve seen in a long time.
