DSC PGP9976 PowerG+ Wireless Smoke and Heat Detector

The PGP9976 is the PowerG+ wireless smoke and heat detector that is taking the place of the PG9936 PowerG model. This detector offers all the new PowerG+ features, including Over-the-air updates, battery life reports, and 2-factor authentication when used with PowerG+ compatible systems. As with all PowerG devices, it includes 128-bit AES encryption and wireless range reaching up to 1.2 miles open-air. The PGP9976 features reliable photoelectric technology for smoke detection. In addition, the PGP9976 includes a thermal fixed 135°F heat sensor, as well as a thermal rate-of-rise detector that triggers upon temperatures rising at 15F degrees/minute. Between the 3 detection methods, you can feel secure knowing the PGP9976 will trigger at the earliest signs possible, without fear of false alarms. Each detector includes an 85db sounder, which will sound alongside the alarm system to ensure everyone in the vicinity will hear the alert and be able to act. The PGP9976 batteries are rated to last up to 6 years during normal use, and now take 2 CR123A batteries instead of AAAs as the previous model did, which makes replacing batteries in all of your sensors less of a hassle. The PGP9976 has also been designed for easier cleaning by making the detector simpler to take apart for deep cleaning, which pairs well with its dirty detection notifications. 

Smoke detectors are susceptible to false alarms in areas where dust, smoke and steam are common, such as attics, garages, and kitchens. For those locations we recommend using the PGP9979 PowerG+ heat detector instead.
