The DSC PG9862 is a wireless ceiling mount motion detector that can be used with any system capable of using the PowerG wireless devices. This motion detector uses a 360° detection pattern to detect movement in the area in which it is installed. The detector can be mounted at different heights which will increase the radius of detection. The heights are as follows:


6.6 ft mounting height = 10.2 detection radius
9.8 ft mounting height = 12.3 detection radius
13.1 ft mounting height = 16.4 detection radius


The PG9862 has built-in wireless link quality indicators so you can see, without going to the keypad, whether the signal strength in the area of placement is adequate. The detector also, when used with compatible panels, has the ability to sense temperature and light levels. These features are only available on alarm systems that support temperature and light sensors.

The PG9862 also features the Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum FHSSTDMA technology you'll get with any PowerG wireless device. The frequency hopping utilizes the most efficient frequency for low battery usage and lets the device send signals using the least path of resistance. It also features True Motion Recognition™ which will ensure that the motion is picking up true motion events instead of possible environmental occurrences which could set off false alarms.

The PG9862 is 10.6 cm round and weighs in at 3.88 oz and is white in color. The battery life of the lithium batteries used in this detector is 5 years on average before needing to be replaced.
