hi, i have a dsc hs2032 neo hard wired system. what communicator do i need to be able to use the alarm.com app on my phone for remote arm/disarm etc. and does the $13.95 service include the monitoring? thanks, Nicholas 847-606-1814

The alarm.com residential includes interactive services and self monitoring, however if you want central station based alarm monitoring that is a separate service and is available as an add on to any alarm.com plan. See here:

Does this service work with a 2GIG panel currently connected to alarm.com via Verizon?
If your 2GIG is connected to another dealer, it cannot be activated with anyone else until that service is canceled and that company releases the module. Once it is opened up though, this would be the proper service for self-monitoring your system.

It sounds like you want a self-monitoring plan that includes automation which is the next higher tier plan level: Alarm.com Interactive + Automation. You can purchase that when your current service expires, just ensure the current service provider releases your system. Instructions to activate the service will be sent upon purchase.

Hi, am I able to program the alpha numeric zones using the app?
No, Alarm.com doesnt allow you to program the system using the app. Its mainly for remote arming/disarming and receiving event notifications.

As a home owner can I purchase the alarm.com communicator TL880LECVZ, install / configure myself, and then work with alarm.com to get the basic self monitoring service ($13.95/month). Or do I have to go through a separate company to get this completed. I would like to purchase, install and work with alarm.com for activation. Thanks.
You will need the installer code for you alarm system, but yes, you can purchase and install the TL880 yourself. Activation of the service relies on a dealer, however, so you will need to work with a company like ourselves to create and activate the service.

We provide interactive and monitoring services for DSC systems, however we do not provide any on site services such as tech visits to reapair a system.

No, the cellular fee is inclusive of the alarm.com plan service fee.

Just bought new house which has DSC alarm system installed. How can I activate?
It would need to have an alarm.com communicator on the system and you would need the installer code to the system in order to activate it with us.

Central station service is always a separate service. Alarm.com doesn't provide that service, only interactive service and the forwarding of signals to a central.
The DSC TL880 communicators do use 128 bit encryption. -
Hi, I have currently installed a security system that is accessible using alarm.com and monitored through a central station. I want to switch from my current service from another 3rd party vendor to your company service plan: "Residential Interactive $13.95/month". What is the information that you need to switch my service and activate my security system under your account?
To activate your alarm.com service we need the IMEI # off your system / communicator. We send a short form once ordered requesting this and some other basic information, name address, etc.

I bought a Qolsys iP 4 wireless system... I live in Trinidad and Tobago... Will I be able to access this service ?
No for two reasons. The Qolsys systems we sell have cellular communicators that only work on US based cell towers by AT&T and Verizon. Also, we only offer Alarm.com services within the US and US territories.
