Alarm.com Cell Connector For Video -  ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2

The ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 is a Verizon cellular hub made by Alarm.com that can be used as an access point for Alarm.com video cameras. Any Alarm.com video camera, SVR or Video Doorbell can be used with the cellular connector, except for the ADC-VDB780B video doorbell. The ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 also allows connectivity of Access control equipment, which can be used simultaneously with video cameras if needed. Compatible access control equipment includes the Alarm.com-compatible Mercury and Aero controllers. In addition, the ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 can be used to provide cellular redundancy to Shooter Detection Systems (SDS) gunshot sensors; however, the cell connector is unable to use SDS setups while using either access control or video devices. Utilizing the ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2, you can expand your Alarm.com coverage beyond your home to locations that do not have available internet, such as barns, cabins, or other more remote buildings you wish to cover. By default, the ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 uses a power adapter, so for buildings with AC power, you'll simply plug in the device to get started. The cell connector uses low-voltage DC, however, so there is the potential to use the cell connector via solar power for areas without standard electricity.

The ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 essentially just acts as a secure Verizon LTE cellular router, allowing you to provide IP connections to devices over either Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Data plans for the cell connector start at 20GB per month, and may be expanded in increments of 5GB, up to a maximum of 70GB total if need be. The ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 can support a whopping 50 total video devices, although the total available at any given time will be limited to factors such as the cellular signal strength of the device, streaming quality, etc. In ideal conditions, the cell connector can provide 25Mbps upload speeds, and each device concurrently using the cell connector at a given time will require upload speeds equal to roughly 1Mbps per Megapixel. See the linked documents below for more information regarding camera speeds for the ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 to plan out your build accordingly. For video setups, it is recommended to have at least 4 bars of Verizon LTE signal at the location of the cell connector for good performance, although with a lower number of cameras/quality, 2 or 3 bars may be sufficient for your needs. Access control and SDS setups require very little data, so 2 or more bars should be more than sufficient for either option.

When enrolling the ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2, it attaches to your Alarm.com as an access point, allowing you to view its current status and current cellular signal status. When using Wi-Fi devices with the cell connector, you will follow the same procedures as setting them up with a standard router; you'll just select the ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 as the access point instead. Any devices connected to the ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2 will update and act completely as normal when connected, so there are no restrictions for normal operations.
