The ADC-VACC-SP4W is a solar panel designed specifically for Alarm.com's new battery-operated camera, the ADC-V731B, and likely any future battery-operated cameras they produce. This solar panel allows you to help maintain the camera's battery level, or remove the need for charging the battery altogether if the V731B has low usage. The VACC-SP4W comes with a 3-meter cord, so it can be mounted in an optimal location up to about 10 feet from the camera. The solar panel cord, when connected to the V731B, provides a water-tight seal so both the camera and solar panel can maintain their IP-65 rating. Be aware that the solar panel will not charge the V731B above 80% of its maximum battery capacity. This helps extend the long-term life of the battery in the camera. 

For those unfamiliar with using solar panels, you will get the best results by facing the solar panel south while in the northern hemisphere, or vice versa. Setting the solar panel at a 45-degree angle usually provides good overall results for capturing sunlight, but it can be tilted up or down as needed to optimize its efficiency for your location/time of year. When deciding where to mount the solar panel, try to avoid locations that will reduce the amount of light that can shine directly on the panel, such as tree branches or other structures.
