Alarm.com ADC-T2000 Smart Thermostat Unboxing Review

Detailed walk-through, unboxing, and review of the Alarm.com ADC-T2000 Smart Thermostat

<Back

Hi, Chris here with alarmsystemstore.com. Today, we get to unbox and check out a cool product from alarm.com. It's the ADC-T2000 Smart Thermostat.

The term "smart" gets thrown around a lot these days. So, let's step over to the bench, open this box, and see what makes a thermostat smart.

And here we have, fresh off the truck, our ADC-T2000 Smart Thermostat in its original box. We're gonna open that and see what comes with this.

Most important, probably, is the manual. Next, we have the actual thermostat in it, front and the rear. See, we have spaces for four AA batteries. Oh, I hope those are included. Nice packaging. Oh, there I see our batteries. Four AA batteries. Below here, you'll see a hardware kit with anchors and screws, and then our mounting plate. And you'll notice on here, we have screwless terminals, which makes installation really nice. And they even thought ahead enough to put a bubble level in here to help us orient this thing in a level position. Great. Lastly, we have some stickers so that we can stick our panel and any other connections we might make, and have some continuity with our back plate.

As I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of programmable smart thermostats around. One thing that makes this one smarter is the ability to use alarm.com geo-services. And that could mean a lot of things, but to put it simply, when you leave the house, the thermostat knows you're leaving because it's connected with your security and your phone, and then it can adjust accordingly so that when you're on the way back home, it can kick your heat back up or down, whatever is required. It also has access to real-time weather so that it can adjust it automatically if a crazy nor'easter cold front blows through and drops the temperature, it will take care of that. And one great safety feature, is if it's connected to your security system, then if you have a smoke or a CO alarm, it will actually shut down your HVAC system, so smoke doesn't circulate through your home, and possibly CO as well. So, not only is it smart, it's safer.
