QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • I currently have an ADT system and would like a louder siren for the basement. something simple and very loud.

These chimes are handy for different sounds, but they are not all that loud. If you're looking for a simple loud indoor siren, something like the SS100H would be the better option: https://www.alarmsystemstore.com/products/15-watt-indoor-dual-tone-wall-mount-siren-ss100h

  • Would a magnetic door contact be able to trigger the chime?

Not on its own. You would need a power supply of some kind to provide power to the chime, which could be triggered by the door contact via a relay. Regarding using both with an alarm system, if your system has programmable outputs, you should be able to set up the door/window zone to trigger an output to power the chime.
