DSC PowerSeries PG9984P PowerG 915Mhz Wireless Dual Tech Motion Detector w/ Pet Immunity

The PG9984P is a Dual Band motion detector that will detect movement on the PIR spectrum and includes K-band microwave detection as well as a backup so that you get the best in detection without the normal false alarms that you might experience with a regular PIR motion detector.

This motion detector also uses temperature compensation technology that will adjust the sensitivity settings automatically so that it can tell the actual human body temperature from the surrounding area where it is located. That means that if the room temperature closely matches that of the human body; the detector will still be able to distinguish. The PG9984P also features a handy LED indicator light that will allow for optimum placement without having to check back at your keypad.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Hi - I would like to install a motion detector in a room that is approximately 23' x 18'. There are 4 ceiling mounted heating/cooling vents in this room. If I mount a DSC PowerSeries PG9984P PowerG 915Mhz Wireless Dual Tech Motion Detector w/ Pet Immunity in the corner 4' away and about 1' down the wall from the nearest ceiling vent, will I be OK for false motion detection because of a heating/cooling changes to the room temp? Thanks, Andy

Yes, you should be fine. The PG9984P is a dual-tech motion sensor, so it has both an infrared detector as well as a microwave detector that both have to trigger to trip the unit. The PG9984P is the ideal model for your situation.
