The ADC-VC8498PA is a rugged, high-quality PoE varifocal dome camera that is part of Alarm.com's new Prism Series lineup. Offering 8MP Ultra HD resolution and a motorized, remotely adjustable varifocal lens, the VC8498PA will provide footage with the clarity and distance you need to keep your home or business secure. As part of the new Prism Series, the VC8498PA offers a much heavier-duty design than other Alarm.com cameras, including IP66 and NEMA 4X ingress protection to prevent water damage and corrosion, as well as IK10 impact resistance. In addition, the VC8498PA offers VividNight Technology, allowing full color imaging in very low-light conditions. Full color imaging can still be recorded as low as .02 lux, which is roughly equivalent to the amount of light offered by a quarter moon at night. The VC8498PA also offers IR night vision up to 40 meters, or a little over 130ft, so even on the darkest nights, it will still be able to record quality footage.

On top of all the nice features the VC8498PA supports as part of the Prism Series, it is equipped with all of the standard Alarm.com traits, including Video Analytics, 24/7 recording via Alarm.com SVRs, as well as two-way audio. With Alarm.com's updated recording rules, setting up the VC8498PA is easier than ever with either the Alarm.com app or web portal. This provides faster installation and less complex user interaction to get the camera up and running. For those who need 24/7 recording, the VC8498PA offers full support with both SVRs and CSVRs, as well as support for Onboard Recording using an SD card. The VC8498PA also supports Full Duplex Two-Way Audio, including line-level input/output, provided it is installed with the required optional cable. The VC8498PA comes with a built-in microphone, so it is able to record audio; however, for those wanting external output audio, a separate speaker must be installed and hooked up to the camera. Provided you have the external speaker, though, the VC8498PA is also fully compatible with Alarm.com's AID, or AI deterrence, feature, allowing the camera to proactively provide an audible defense for your property. By using AI and advanced video analytics to determine what the camera is seeing, it is able to play an improvised message to actively deter intruders.
