What is the L5100-ZWAVE?

The L5100-Zwave is a small card that you can add to the Lynx L5210 and L7000 panels so that you can use and add Z-Wave devices right from your Honeywell Lynx Touch system.

This module will turn your Lynx Touch system into a Z-Wave control module. This has the ability to control a limited number of Z-Wave devices including locks, lighting controls, thermostats, garage door openers, and blind controls. - Back To Top

 

 

 

What kind of Z-Wave devices can be used with the L5100-ZWAVE module?

With the L5100-ZWAVE module you can use door locks, lighting controls, thermostats, garge door openers, and blind controls. There are only a limited amount of devices in these categories that can be used so be sure to check the specifications on this module to make sure your device can be used. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Can you remotely control the Z-Wave devices when you’re not at home?

Using just the Lynx Touch panels and the L5100-ZWave module alone will not give you the capability to remotely control these Z-Wave devices. You can have unlimited local, on-site control however.

To be able to have remote control of your Z-Wave home automation devices; you will have to add a cellular or internet communicator to the system and sign up for Honeywell's Total Connect with the Home Automation package. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Where do you install the L5100-ZWAVE module?

You will istall the L5100-ZWAVE module inside any of the Lynx Touch models. The Lynx panles have a side-connector chip on the main board where the L5100-ZWAVE module plugs into. Simply connect via the connector and it's ready to go. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Can you insert the L5100-ZWAVE module with the other modules that plug into the panel?

You will be able to use all 3 of the plugin modules for the Lynx at the same time. The Lynx has separate connection spots on the main board to accommodate the 3GL, L5100-WIFI and the L5100-ZWAVE. - Back To Top

 

 

 

3GL GSM Communicator

 

 

 

How does the 3GL mount inside the Lynx panels?

When you purchase a Honeywell 3GL cellular communicator you'll get a connector chip in the box along with the communicator. This connector chip is what is used to mount the 3GL in the Lynx Touch panels.

Iside the Lynx Touch panels there is a receptacle that the connector chip fits in. There is also the same kind of receptacle on the 3GL communicator. The connector chip plugs into each of these receptacles connecting the two. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Can you use the 3GL along with the L5100-WIFI?

Yes. You will be able to fit both of these in the panel together. Using both will give your system a redundancy factor so that if one fails then the other will take up in its place. - Back To Top

 

 

 

What cellular frequency does the 3GL use?

The 3GL is a GSM communicator so it will use the GSM cellular frequency. This is akin to what companies like AT&T or T-Mobile would use. The 3GL will carry signal over the 3G or 4G networks. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Can you use the 3GL to self-monitor?

You will not be able to use any of the communication modules listed here, whether they be cellular or internet, to do self-monitoring. Will I have to get a SIM card to use the 3GL?

How does the L5100-WIFI module mount in the Lynx Touch panels?

To mount the L5100-WIFI into a Lynx Touch panel; all that needs done is to plug the board into the receptacle chip on the main panel's side board. There is a protruding chip that sticks out from the main board the this module plugs into. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Can you use the L5100-WIFI along with the 3GL cellular communicator?

You will be able to use the L5100-WIFI module along with the 3GL cellular communicator. Honeywell has made it possible to connect the 3GL, L5100-WIFI and the L5100-ZWAVE modules all in one panel. - Back To Top

 

 

 

How does the L5100-WIFI connect to your router?

The L5100-WIFI connects to any WIFI enabled router just like any other WIFI device would. In the Lynx Touch's programming sections, after you install the L5100-WIFI, you will see a place to enter in your local networks WIFI credntials. CDMA-L3 Cellular Communicator for L3000

 

 

 

How does the CDMA-L3 mount in the Lynx L3000?

The CDMA-L3 mounts inside the Lynx L3000 panel and goes on the side that the backup battery sits on. It will mount to the left of the battery in the compartment space there. It will connect to the main board via a connector cable. - Back To Top

 

 

 

What carrier network does the CDMA-L3 use?

The CDMA-L3 uses the CDMA frequency to send alarm signals to a central station. CDMA frequency is used by Verizon and companies like them. This communicator is suggested for those that live in an area that has a better Verizon service than AT&T. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Will I have to sign up with a cellular provider to use the CDMA-L3?

You won't have to go to Verizon to activate this module. You will have to activate the CDMA-L3 through an authorized dealer, like us, and the dealer would activate the module with Alarmnet by using the MAC and CRC numbers on the cellular radio itself. - Back To Top

 

 

 

Can the CDMA-L3 just do monitoring only?

You can do central station monitoring with the CDMA-L3, but you can also use Honeywell's Total Connect monitoring as well and recevie your own notifications via email or text as well as have remote control of the alarm system. - Back To Top

 

 

 

GSMVLP-4G GSM Communicator for L3000

 

 

 

How does the GSMVLP-4G mount in the L3000?

The GSVMLP-4G will mount inside of the Lynx Plus L3000 in the same fashion that the CDMA-L3 mounts. It will go on the side of the panel where the backup battery sits. You will secure the board to the panel casing using the included 3 screws. You will then use the connector cable that came with it to connect the GSMVLP-4G to the main board. - Back To Top

 

 

 

What carrier network does the GSMVLP-4G use?

This communicator uses the GSM frequency for signal transmission. This operates on the network that companies like AT&T and T-Mobile companies would use. This is great for folks who live in an area where these types of signal carriers are prevelant. - Back To Top
