The Connected Car Service add-on is for use with the Alarm.com Car Connector. This allows you to connect your or a family member's vehicle to your Alarm.com interactive app. By using this service you can track usage of the car, gas mileage, and GPS location. The connected car service can even read engine trouble conditions if the vehicle supports this through its OBD-II port.

This add-on service is great for new drivers or even older family members that may need to be monitored while driving. Cars built after 1996 with a viable OBD-II connection can use this service, though depending on the model of the vehicle some features may not be available. The vehicle must provide the information, such as fuel levels, to the OBD-II port for the Car Connector to read it. This cannot be used as a stand-alone service, so you must have an active Alarm.com Interactive account before it can be used.
