ADC-VDB780B Batter-Powered WiFi Video Doorbell

Alarm.com's most recent addition to the video doorbell scene brings you a completely wireless video doorbell camera, the ADC-VDB780B. The VDB780B is powered using a long-lasting 9540mAh battery pack that makes up the lower portion of the device. The upper portion houses the camera itself as well as the SD card slot that does not currently support any features. Due to the nature of battery-powered devices, the largest drawback of this device by far is the inability to use Onboard Recording, as that would sap the battery very heavily. If you are not concerned with Onboard Recording, however, the V780B is one of the easiest doorbell cameras to install and is very feature-rich making up for its few limitations.

Be aware, the ADC-VDB780B REQUIRES the use of the ADC-W115C Wireless Doorbell Chime and an Alarm.com Video Service Plan to operate. The W115C contains a WiFi hub that the VDB780B must connect to. It cannot be connected directly to your router.

The VDB780B offers many nice features that make it a premium Alarm.com product and Video Doorbell. The 1920x1080P resolution the VDB780B is capable of, considering its battery-powered operation, is an example of that. Even running at 1080P, the included battery pack is expected to last around 6 months, subject to usage and environmental factors. The average charging time of the battery is around 7 hours, so there will be a chunk of a day every 6 months or so that your VDB780B is out of commission. Currently, additional batteries may be purchased for the unit, but do to low need we do not have them listed on the site. If you need or want a secondary battery for the VDB780B, please send us a chat.

On top of that, the VDB780B boasts an impressive 175-degree diagonal angle of view, broken down that is 160-degree horizontal and 90-degree vertical view. An effective IR range of 15ft allows the VDB780B to capture quality footage of your doorstep at night. Alarm.com's new doorbell camera also supports 2-way audio, allowing you to hear and speak through the V780B using the Alarm.com app and compatible Alarm systems such as the Qosys IQ Panel 4. The ADC-VDB780B is capable of operating in fairly harsh conditions between its IP66 Ingress protection, and -4°F to 122°F temperature limits. Overall the VDB780B is a solid competitor where completely wireless doorbell cameras are concerned, and you gain the added benefit of having Alarm.com, one of the top and most robust alarm and video service providers to date.
