Interlogix NX1820E NetworX Touch Screen KeypadThe Interlogix NX1820E Touch Screen is a color touch screen that has a brilliant 3.5" display. The full dimensions of the keypad are 3.2 x 4.9 x 0.7 in. The keypad is a nice neutral white color and will fit most any decor. The keypad features easy to read icons for operation. If you're used to operating touchscreen devices like tablets or a smartphone then the interface will be familiar to you. This keypad also features quick arm (away/stay) keys as well as status keys so you'll always be able to read what's going on with the alarm system at a glance. Another nice feature of the keypad is that it gives you the option of labeling user names, areas, zones, outputs and rooms.
The keypad also is able to handle up to 192 zones and will display information for every zone on your system up to that amount. Not only does it have the ability to display a large amount of zones, but the keypad can also handle up to 99 user codes if your system supports it. Have more than one partition? Never a problem accessing other partitions with this keypad as it will let you access and view up to 8. The NX1820E also has a built-in message board so that users can leave messages for other users to retrieve and read at their leisure. If you need to have only certain devices chime then this keypad can help you with that. You'll be able to assign chime groups for specific zones.
The NX1820E is a nice addition for your alarm system if you'd like a modern look for your keypad selection. These keypads are compatible with the Interlogix NetworX panels. These include the NX-4, the NX-6, the NX-8 and the NX-8E systems. This can take the place of any other NetworX keypad such as the NX148E. Most of the standard keypads that Interlogix make are very functional yet they lack a more modern look that the NX1820E can provide.
To install this keypad you will install the back plate on the wall that you want the keypad to live on. Run your connection wires through the hole in the back plate first as to make them easier to get to after installing the back plate on the wall. You will then take the three wires and hook them into the keypad itself. There will be two power wires and one data wire. After that you will affix the keypad to the back plate and then go through the programming that needs done such as zone programming, user code programming, etc.
