IPDatatel WIFI Broadband Alarm Transceiver

Is WIFI the only way the IPDatatel WIFI Transceiver connects to a router?

The IPDatatel WIFI Transceiver can connect to a router via WIFI connectivity. This makes it easier to use for those that can't run an ethernet cable between the panel and the router. But, you can also do a physical connection via ethernet cable if you so choose. This unit has both options. - Back To Top

What happens if my power goes out? Will this still send signal?

This WIFI unit will stay powered up during a power outage because it draws power from the main panel and the main panel has a backup battery. This is good because it means the unit will not go down because lack of AC. On the other hand, it will not be able to send signal unless you have the router plugged into some sort of backup power supply. We recommend getting one of these if this is going to be your only form of communication for the alarm system. - Back To Top

Can the IPDatatel WIFI Transceiver be used to send signal to a central station monitoring?

The IPDatatel WIFI Transceiver, just like any of the IPDatatel communicators, can be used to send signal to a central station monitoring service.
