PG9901 Indoor Siren

Does the PG9901 use batteries or an AC power source?

The PG9901 operates on battery power. The device uses long-life lithium batteries. The batteries are 3.6V 14.5AH lithiums and they will last, on average, 8 years before you replace them. The siren itself has low battery detection and will send a low battery signal back to the main panel so you will never have to guess at when you should replace them. - Back To Top

How does the PG9901 communicate with the main panel?

This, like every other DSC NEO PowerG device, communicates wirelessly with the main control panel via the transceiver. You will enter in the device's electronic serial number. - Back To Top

PG9904P PIR Motion Detector

Will pets set the PG9904P off?

The PG9904P is pet immune and as long as the combined weight of the pets in your home is under 85 lbs then the motion sensor will not trip because of said pets. If you pet is larger than 85 lbs then we suggest going with a different motion detector. - Back To Top

How can the PG9904P be mounted?

You can mount this flat on a wall or in a corner. The backplate of the motion detector can be drilled through for installation. The mounting screws that come with it can be drilled through the back of the backplate or through the corners for mounting in a corner. The corners of this motion detector are beveled so that the motion can sit in a corner. - Back To Top

PG9905 Temperature Sensor

What does the PG9905 do?

The PG9905 will monitor hot or cold temperatures where they are installed. You can use these to monitor rooms where temperature control is critical. Perfect for a server room where heat can be your biggest enemy. Once the programmed temperature is reached; the PG9905 can alert the panel and either an alarm or warning message can be displayed. You can also set up the system's PGMs to trip an appliance. - Back To Top

Can freezer or refrigerator temperatures be monitored with the PG9905?

You can monitor freezer or refrigerator temperatures with this device, but you will need an add-on probe to do this with. - Back To Top

PG9911B Outdoor Siren with Blue Strobe

Is the PG9911B battery powered or does it come with a power adapter?

This runs on long-life lithium batteries. The expected life span of the battery is 5 years before you have to replace them. The siren sends a low battery signal to the panel when the battery does get low so as to let you know you need to change it before it dies. - Back To Top

Will the PG9911B siren sound the entry/exit delays sounds?

This siren can sound the entry/exit delay sounds that normally sound from the keypad. You have to set this up in programming. - Back To Top

PG9913 CO Detector

Where are the best places to mount the PG9913?

The best places to mount the PG9913 CO detector would be outside bedrooms and any place in the home or business where gas is being used in appliances. Carbon Monoxide is a deadly killer and if you can detect it before it reaches the main occupied areas of a building so much the better. - Back To Top

Can the PG9913 detectors be tested frequently to test functionality?

The PG9913 can be tested after it is mounted because of the convenient test button located on the unit. With this you can tell if he unit is operable. - Back To Top

PG9916 Smoke and Heat Detector

So the PG9916 detects smoke. How far apart do these need placed?

This will detect smoke from a fire in the building where they are installed. The usual spacing for smoke detectors is every 1000 square feet. It is also a good idea to put one in the hall outside of bedrooms. - Back To Top

What does the heat portion of the PG9916 do?

The heat detection portion of the PG9916 will detect a sharp rise in temperature and will set off at temperatures of 135 degrees fahrenheit. This is good to have just in case for some reason the heat rises before the smoke actually reaches the detector. - Back To Top

How often do the PG9916 units need replaced?

The detector must be replaced if the built-in horn beeps every 30 seconds with a flashing red LED present. Other than that; these smokes should be cleaned by vacuum every week and the batteries must be replaced every 8 years whether you get a low battery message or not. - Back To Top

PG9920 Repeater

What does the PG9920 repeater do?

A wireless repeater is a device that will repeat wireless device's signals that lie on the outer regions of the original wireless range. So if you've reached the maximum wireless range that the receiver can handle; the repeater can be used to extend the range further. - Back To Top

Will the PG9920 only extend the range?

Not only will these repeaters extend the wireless range, but they can be used to strengthen or boost a signal. If you have an area that lies within main receiver's area but it's experiencing issues with communicating to the receiver; the repeater will boost the signal and help the troubled device communicate better with the receiver. - Back To Top

PG9922 Glass Break Detector

Do you install the PG9922 on the glass of the windows?

No. These devices are "listeners" and listen for the sound of breaking glass. A lot of people get these confused with shock sensors which do get installed on the glass of the window to pick up vibration.

These devices will usually listen for the sound of breaking glass for a radius of 25 feet. You will install these on a wall or ceiling in the area of the windows you want protected. - Back To Top

Will the PG9922 pick up breaking glass in other rooms?

Glass break detectors will not listen for breaking glass through walls or closed doors. You will need to install these devices in any room where you'd like to monitor for breaking glass. - Back To Top

PG9924 Curtain Motion Detector

What does it mean by “curtain”?

Curtain refers to the type of detection pattern it uses. This uses a "curtain" coverage pattern. This allows the motion detector to have a selectable range of anywhere from 2 to 6 feet. It also has a placement LED that will let you get the maximum out of the install. - Back To Top

Why choose the PG9924 over another motion detector?

Some people might choose this over another motion detector because of the ability to adjust the range on it. - Back To Top

PG9926 Smoke Detector

How far apart are the PG9926 units supposed to be placed?

We recommend putting these in areas such as a hallway outside of a group of bedrooms and possibly the living room. In some cities there are codes that say they must be placed every 1000 square feet. - Back To Top

Would it be good to install the PG9926 in a hallway outside bedrooms?

Yes it is a great idea to have one or more of these outside bedrooms. It is usual worry of most families that a fire might occur at night when the family sleeps. With these in place; you'll have piece of mind. - Back To Top

PG9929 Slimline Four Button Key Fob

What are the four buttons on the PG9929 for?

The four buttons on this device perform four separate functions. One button will act as your 'AWAY' arming key for when everyone is leaving the home or business. The next button will work as your 'STAY' arming key and it can be used if you're in the house, aren't near a keypad and you have this in your pocket. It is used to arm all but the motion sensors when you are in the home or business. The next key is the 'DISARM' key and will deactivate the system. And the last button is used as a 'PANIC' key. This can be pressed when there is someone in the home while you're there. You can program this button to work as a silent or audible panic. - Back To Top

Why is the PG9929 called a slimline key fob?

These are called slimline because they have a smaller profile design than the other key fobs in this line of products. They won't take up as much space in your pocket. - Back To Top

PG9935 Shock Detector

Does the PG9935 mount on the window glass itself?

This shock sensor will actually mount on the window glass itself. These are different from the glass break detectors as they don't listen but feel for vibration. These are used to maybe prevent a glass break by sensing the shock of a hit to the glass or window frame. - Back To Top

How sensitive are the PG9935 detectors?

These are sensitive enough to sense vibration from a hit through and entire door or window. And the detector has sensiivity settings from weak to very sensitive. You will have to test and adjust with these settings. - Back To Top

PG9938 Panic Button

What kind of panic can the PG9938 be used for?

You can use these as the intended police panic button for an audible or silent panic. You can also use this device for a medical panic. How it operates is based on how you set it up in programming. - Back To Top

So I can carry the PG9938 in my pocket?

You can most certainly carry this in your pocket. It also can be worn as a pendant on a neck band or carried on your belt with a clip. - Back To Top

PG9939 Four Button Key Fob

What are the four buttons on the PG9939 used for?

Just as with most fobs that have four buttons; this key fob has four separate functions. You can arm the system in 'AWAY' mode when the building will be vacant with one button. With another button you can arm all but the motions in the 'STAY' mode. - Back To Top

What happens if I lose one of the PG9939 fobs?

If you lose one of these keyfobs then there's no worries. You can just as easily remove the keyfob from system programming by removing it's electronic serial number. - Back To Top

PG9945 Contact with Auxiliary Input

What is the auxiliary input on the PG9945?

The auxiliary input is for wiring in simple, two-wire normally-closed hardwired contacts. This device works well for situations where you have hardwired door or window contacts where the wires near the contact itself may have been cut. - Back To Top

How easy is the PG9945 to install?

This is fairly easy to install and really only takes learning the device's serial number into programming by either using the auto-enroll feature or by manually typing it in. You then have to set a couple more settings. Pretty easy and we can help if you get stuck. - Back To Top

PG9949 Two Button Key Fob

Why only two buttons on the PG9949 fob?

This is just a simple two button keyfob. Sometimes people don't care for a lot of options. It has an 'AWAY' arming mode for leaving the building vacant and a 'DISARM' key to shut the system off when it's armed. - Back To Top

What happens if I lose the PG9949 fob?

Just like any of the other wireless devices that can be paired with the NEO system; you can remove this from programming by taking out it's electronic serial number. - Back To Top

PG9974P Mirror Motion Detector

What is meant by the ‘Mirror’ in the PG9974P part name?

The mirror in the part name means that it uses mirror optics for better motion detection. The mirror optics provides a better detection sensitivity and helps lower instances of false alarms. - Back To Top

Will the PG9974P be easy for pets to set off?

As long as the combined weight of your pets does not exceed 40 lbs. then you we be fine using this in a home that has pets. If your pets are heavier than 40 lbs. then we'd suggest using a different motion detector. - Back To Top

PG9975 Vanishing Contact

Why is the PG9975 called a ‘Vanishing’ contact?

It is called a vanishing contact because it has an extremely low-profile design. This is chosen because it's more aesthetically more pleasing to look at than one of the bulkier transmitters. This has a slim, thin design and makes it easy to install in areas that have not a lot of space. - Back To Top

So the PG9975 can be used on doors and windows?

These can be used on doors and windows. These will mount on the surface of either the door or window. They come with mounting screws and double-sided adhesive. - Back To Top

PG9984P Dual Tech Motion Detector

So what does dual technology mean?

Dual technology or dual lense refers to the fact that these motiojn sensors need to have not only the passive infrared range activated, but also the microwave range as well. Both ranges have to be tripped at the same time to insure that false alarms aren't a worry. - Back To Top

What size pet is safe to have with the PG9984P motions?

The maximum weight limit for these motion detectors is 40 lbs. That is the combined weight of all of your pets. So if all of your pets weigh over a combined 40 lbs. then you will need to use another motion detector. - Back To Top

PG9985 Flood Detector

Will the PG9985 sit on the floor to monitor for flooding?

You won't need to mount this directly on the floor. The transmitter portion can mount on the wall and then the probes can be mounted a little bit off of the floor. Mount the probes just shy of touching the floor. We don't mount these with the probes directly touching the floor as natural condensation might cause moisture to bridge the contacts. - Back To Top

How much time between water touching the contacts and the alarm registering a condition?

The time it takes to alarm when the probes are bridged by water is 4 minutes. So if the probes sit in water for 4 minutes then the panel will signal a trouble/warning message. - Back To Top

PG9994 Outdoor Motion Detector

Won’t every little thing outside set the PG9994 off?

No. Outdoor style motion detectors are specifically made to differentiate between animals, sun, outdoor temprature and actual human beings. It can even distinguish between ambient temprature and body heat. - Back To Top

What about hot temperatures affecting the PG9994 detector?

As mentioned above; high temperatures will not affect this motion detector. These are rigorously tested to insure you won't get false alarms under outdoor conditions. - Back To Top
