The Impassa has room for up to 64 wireless zones. The wireless zones are used for things like door/window contacts, motion detectors, smoke detectors, and flood detectors. Can I add additional sirens to the DSC Impassa?

The Impassa benefits from being able to use DSC’s wireless sirens: WT4901 indoor siren and WT4911B outdoor siren with blue strobe and temperature sensor. You can add up to 4 of any combination of these sirens as well as the onboard siren in the main panel. The enrollment process for the sirens is just like any other wireless device. The batteries with the WT4911B do need to go through the depassivation process that is outlined in the manual before it will work properly. - Back To Top

Can I add secondary keypads to the DSC Impassa?

You can add additional keypads to the DSC Impassa. They will have to be wireless keypads though. You cannot use any of the wired keypads DSC makles for this system.

The keypads that can be used with this system are the WT5500 and WT5500P. We always recommend adding additional keypads to a system such as the Impassa that are all-in-one wireless systems. You never want to put the main unit by an entry door. - Back To Top

How many user codes can I program into the DSC Impassa?

The Impassa can have up to 17 user access codes programmed. This should be plenty for residential use and may even be enough for many small businesses. - Back To Top

What are my monitoring options with the DSC Impassa?

The Impassa has a built-in phone dialer that can be connected to any regular landline to communicate directly to a central station for monitoring. This is a great, reliable, and economical option if you have a landline.

However many people are cutting their ties to landline telephones. And even if you have access to it, it can be hard to justify paying for a landline just for the alarm system. Luckily we have some Impassa kits that come Alarm.com ready. These have a built-in cellular communicator that will communicate wirelessly to Alarm.com. Alarm.com gives you the flexibility to self-monitor, use central station monitoring, or a combination of the two. With their interactive service plans you can remotely control the alarm panel, set up custom notifications, use location based services, as well as having access to home automation if desired. And with their wireless signal forwarding, which can be bought separately and is included with all their interactive services, you can have alarm signals sent to a central station for monitoring. - Back To Top
