The Honeywell Lynx Plus is Honeywell's latest offering in the Lynx Series wireless alarm systems. Among a host of new features over the prior Lynx R2, the Lynx Plus also features a new smaller more attractive design. Lynx Plus is a self contained wireless alarm system. The main unit contains the control panel, keypad, siren, dialer, two-way voice system, and speakerphone. The Lynx Plus is X10 capable (X10 transformer sold separately) and features full voice response, remote phone control, and much more.
Lynx Plus supports up to 25 wireless sensors, up to 15 wireless button / remotes and has one hardwire zone input available. Compatible with Honeywell's entire 5800 series wireless sensors, remotes and wireless keypads. Lynx Plus is one of the easiest systems to install and use.
The Lynx Plus is ideal for small residential applications. It's a great, reliable system and is preferred by those that can't do runs of wire all over the house. Although if you had a loop of simple, normally-closed switches; you can wire them into the Lynx Plus' one hardwired zone. This panel has the ability to support up to 40 zones total but if you use keyfobs then you'll have to forfeit 1 zone per button on the remote.
The Lynx Plus is also a great choice for those that want to be self-monitored. You can hook the Lynx into a phone line and have it call out to one number for self-monitoring purposes. If you have it call your cellphone or another line; the Lynx will voice announce system status when the call is answered. You can also call into the panel and gain a couple of remote manipulation options such as arming.
If the panel's on-board siren or the 5800WAVE Wireless Siren isn't enough for you or you're looking for an outside option then you can use the Lynx's wired siren terminals and an extra power supply to add a wired horn/siren to the system as well.
This little wireless system is a powerhouse in disguise!
