the ability to be powered using the 24 VAC "C" wire from your HVAC system. The unit measures 5.75 in W x 4.5 in H x 1 in D and can be mounted on the wall or you can mount it on a single-gang junction box. The GC-TBZ48 will work with either standard HVAC systems and heat pump systems as well so it makes this a versatile unit. The GoControl Thermostat makes it easy to upgrade the firmware a well by giving you a USB port so that you can connect this to a computer.
To install the GC-TBZ48 Thermostat you will need to power down the existing system. You'll find the breaker in your breaker box for the heating/cooling system and shut it off. You will then go to to the old thermostat and remove the cover so that the inner wiring is visible. You will then mark the wires to label them as to what they are. Most wires in a heating/cooling system are marked Y1, Y2, W1, W2, O, B and the GC-TBZ48 will have inputs for most of these. You will then remove the old thermostat and backplate and prepare the wall for the GC-TBZ48. You'll then install the backplate for the new thermostat by pulling the wires through the backplate and attach it to the wall.. You'll then attach the wires to your new thermostat and secure it to the backplate. After that you'll restore electricity and then include the GC-TBZ48 in your Z-Wave network by putting your control into Add Mode and follow the steps for the thermostat as described in the install manual that you'll get.
