The WWA-02AA is a sensor that you can use to protect against flooding, freezing and drastic temperature changes. This unit has the ability to send a Z-Wave trigger signal if any of the violation measures are met. The WWA-02AA is 3" (76 mm) x 2.1" (53mm) x 1.1" (30mm) and can be installed in any spot where sensing of environmental conditions is needed. The WWA-02AA is operated by 2 AA alkaline batteries with an average life expectancy of 1 to 2 years. This is easy to install and is done by putting your control in 'Add Mode' and then pressing the inclusion switch on the device.
The WWA-02AA will check for leaks every four seconds. This will help ensure that you won't be getting any surprise flooding. If flooding is detected then it can send signal to a water shut-off valve such as the Fortrezz WV-01 Z-Wave Indoor Automated Water Shut-off Valve. If you have a controller like the HUSBZ-1 USB Z-Wave Hub then you can also have it send signal to that as well to possibly initiate a sequence.
The water sensors are factory calibrated to prevent against false alarms. The sensor will work to detect leaks whether you are using city water utilities or well water. The sensing probes on the WWA-02AA are gold plated so as to resist corrosion. Another feature of this water sensor is that it will float and it will cotinue to send flooding/leak signals for up to 24 hours if they aren't cleared or reset. The sensors come in both black and white. The Unit will alert you if the batteries are running low and the buzzer will also alert you of flood and leak conditions. You have the option to have the LEDs signal trouble as well if you'd like a visual verifyer. The WWA-02AA can also monitor for freezing temperatures and high heat conditions due to fire. The operating temperature range is from 14° F - 158° F. The temperature sensing capability is able to deliver an alert with +/- 2° of the target temperature.
Common places that the WWA-02AA sensor can be used include water heaters, dish washers, toilets, under sink cabinets, behind refrigerators, near spigots or faucets, near clothes washers and near bath tubs as well. This sensor will definitely save you some money in the long run as flooding is a costly so far as repair and reconstruction are concerned.
