The Lynx Touch 5100 is a minor upgrade to the Lynx Touch
L5000 model. Honeywell has essentially taken the L5000 and added support for a couple
new updated modules that expand certain system features. For example the L5000
is Z Wave capable for basic lighting and thermostat control, however the L5100
expands Z wave capability to control a larger amount of Z-Wave devices like
door locks, lighting, and other home automation accessories. Also for those of
you who like Total Connect but do not have good cell service, the new lineup
includes a new device called a WiFi IP
bridge that will let you connect the L5100 to a router without the wires so
that your panel can communicate to a central station via your internet
connection. Lastly, there is an updated GSM available for the L5100 that can
send signals to a central via 2G, 3G and now 4G on the AT&T network.
