Honeywell Lynx Touch L5100 Kit 1

The Honeywell Lynx Touch L5100 is an slightly upgraded Lynx L5000 that has all new add-on capabilities. It is the newest incarnation in Honeywell's Lynx self-contained wireless security systems. The display is slightly different on the L5100 in that it will display the weather (one day and five day forecasts), traffic, news in your local area (if Total Connect service is being used). The touchscreen is a nice size 4.7" and has a 16.7 million color resolution with easy to use graphic icons.

Not only has the display been tweaked slightly, but Honeywell has made the L5100 capable of handling some very useful add-ons. The first thing that Honeywell has made to be plugged into this newer system is a Z-Wave controller that is capable of letting you make scenes (scheduling) for certain conditions. You can add the following Z-Wave devices:

Up to three thermostats
Four door locks
40 devices (lights, switches and lamp modules)

There are also a lot of useful devices that you can use with Honeywell's Total Connect service as well. They have a new GSMVLP5-4G which is a cellular communicator that is used for central station monitoring and transmits signals over the 2G, 3G and 4G cellular networks (Can be used for regular monitoring or Total Connect). They also make a WiFi IP communicator, the L5100-WIFI, that will allow you to send signals to your router wirelessly so that alarm conditions can be sent to a monitoring station.
