EnvisaLink 3 IP Communicator Security Interface Module

The Envisalink 3 is a TCP/IP interface module from Eyez On that allows you to view the status of your alarm system remotely using a browser portal or a smartphone application. You wire this unit into the keybus of your DSC or Honeywell wired alarm system and it provides remote viewing and control of your alarm system. You can also set an unlimited amount of email or SMS addresses so that you may receive notifications on alarms, arms, disarms, trouble conditions, etc.

The Envisalink 3 performs self-maintenance and if it is hooked to a broadband "always-on" connection it will receive updates anytime they are available. The wiring and installation of the unit are simple and easy and no programming changes are needed for operation through a DSC panel. There are some programming setup steps for the Honeywell Vista Series though, but Eyez On provides these steps for you and an explanation of what each programming setup step does.

There is no annual fee associated with the Envisalink 3 and you can register it yourself on Eyez On's site which makes this add-on one of our new favorites.

Worked right out of the box. September 11, 2014

I was really surprised at how small the module is. No holes in the DSC-PC1616 metal box matched up with the holes in the envisalink3 printed circuit board.  Had to drill holes in the PC1616 metal box to mount the envisalink3 printed circuit board.

Tech support for the Envisalink 3 is slow. Have to leave your call back info, but did get call back with in one hour.

The eyezon website is kind of primitive. HELP info is dis-orginazed or missing all together. Config options are not documented, but tech support provided the information to get me over the learning curve.

Biggest dislike is the terminology used in the email/sms, messages sent by eyezon, they use open/close instead of arm/disarm. Was not satisfied with tech support reason that this is standard industry message. There is no reason that eyesons could not change their messaging to arm/disarm to make reporting message more understandable by the human reading it.

I got what I paid for.

This thing is unbelievable. Truly a killer to monitoring services. Easy to install But.. you need to know your way around programming (Vista) security systems. 500 stars on my account, but Im sure soon someone will find a way to milk this and start charging (Envisalink) Then.... We will just find an alternative. For now... 1000 stars ! As for Alarmsystemstore ... you have homesecurity by the nuts in shipping and taxes, but not by much. Be careful, I can shift my business easy, thanks to technology.

Too Easy March 4, 2014

I have to echo most everyone’s sentiment on how easy the EnvisaLink  3 module is to install and configure.  I installed the module on a DSC PC1864 mounted in the cabinet that came with the DSC Kit 64-219SE Power 1864 Alarm System Kit which had holes pre-drilled that matched the holes on the module.  It took me longer to run the CAT 6 cable from my router to the alarm panel than it did to mount and configured the module.  I am using one zone to monitor the position of the garage overhead door.  I have it configured as a 24-Hr Non-Alarm (option 26) so it will not create an alarm condition when opened.  It simply allows me to check to see if I forgot to put the door down.  I am using three program outputs to enable closing and opening the door remotely.  All in all I would say this is an exceptional value for the functions it can perform.  The device is amazingly simple to install and configure.  It is also very easy to use remotely from a smart phone (BlackBerry Torch in my case).

Envisalink install was quick and easy. February 22, 2014
Reviewer: John K. from Bradenton, FL United States
I ordered the EVL3 on Mon AM and had it in my hands on Thurs PM via US Mail.
While waiting, I ran the required Ethernet  cable from my router to DSC PC1575 alarm box. I wish that a drill template was available online so that I could have pre-drilled the three .187" diameter holes in my alarm box.  The holes hold plastic pins that come with the EVL3.  Once the pins are installed in the alarm box, the EVL3 slips on them for a neat install.
Once the EVL3 arrived, I was "on the air" in about a half hour.  Most of that time was spent drilling the 3 holes.
Wiring instructions that came with the EVL3 were very brief.  I had wired to the DSC keybus before, so I knew where the wires needed to go.  I suspect that a novice might be somewhat intimidated by the placement of those 4 wires (red, black, yellow, green).
Bottom line is that the product works as advertised, and delivery was quick. I'm now receiving text & email from the EVL3. Status and control are available via my internet devices.
