DSC wireless ready Power 1832CP01 alarm system kit with deluxe alpha LCD pad (Kit32-219)

This is a DSC Power 1832 system that includes the following:

1 - DSC Power 1832 system board with cabinet
1 - DSC RFK5500 alpha programmable keypad WITH built in wireless receiver
1 - DSC LC-100-PI hardwired motion detector with pet immunity
1 - 16.5 / 40va power transformer
1 - 12 volt 4 amp system backup battery
1 - 15 watt surface mount indoor siren
1 - RJ31X telephone jack and cord set

Features 8 onboard hardwire zones and can do up to 32 hardwired or wireless (additional hardwired requires expansion modules) This kit includes the deluxe RFK 5500 alpha programmable keypad that has a built in wireless receiver. Supports up to 8 keypads (may mix and match styles) and has 4 partitions. The Power 1832 replaces the discontinued Power 832.

I used this system to replace an old Br*&%s panel that was installed by the builder of my home. It had not worked in years. I was able to use the existing wiring and some of the sensors without any major issues.

Learning curve was a little steep, but I learned by screwing up my settings a couple of times. (note to self... downloading via the pc link to the panel is not downloading data from the panel to the pc.... Its downloading data from the pc to the panel!...) I had everything perfect and then overwrote the entire system with a download of default settings. I OF COURSE did not write all my settings into the worksheet!!! soo.... I had to start all over from scratch. This did help me get the system figured out completely however.
The system is set up with a couple of wireless keyfobs, motion sensors, door sensors, and will dial my and my wife's cell phone when tripped.

There are several great forums out there for the DIY folks.

Overall an A+.

Replaced an old Caddx Ranger 8900 with this and love it. The Ranger died from lightning strike, but I would have replaced it years ago if I'd have known I'd like DSC so much better. Lot more capabilities.

Very happy with the system. Programming was pretty confusing, but 10 minutes on the phone with Andy in tech support got me up and going.
