Ademco Vista 15P 6160 kit by Honeywell

This Vista 15P alarm system kit features the 6160 alpha display keypad. Note: The Vista series alarm systems all require either a 6160, 6160rf or 6160V keypad for programming and setup. You may use other models as secondary or additional keypads, but must have one of the 6160 series alpha programmable models for initial setup.

The Ademco Honeywell Vista 15P is a mid level system that can do six hardwire zones out of the box, with the capability to do up to 32 zones total (up to 22 of them hardwired and up to 26 of them wireless) with the use of hardwire expansion and wireless expansion. Supports two wire and four wire type smokes, features up to 32 user codes, and a time stamped 50 event log viewable on the 6160 model keypads.

Years ago, I was the installation manager for a small alarm company. I recently purchased this kit to replace the aging control panel and keypads of my existing residential system. Installation and wiring was easy enough with the instructions provided. Programming the system is by far the more technical part. Used the keypad programming method, following instructions closely. The 15P includes a good set of features that can be customized by the installer. Component quality seems to be very good for residential applications. I consider the kit to be an excellent value, including the control panel, keypad, PIR, battery, transformer, inside siren, and telco connections. Once installed easy to operate.
